Planned Migration from Cologne to Frankfurt

Status: Resolved

Start: 12.08.2026 15:00  –  End: 13.08.2026 12:39

Description
We are pleased to announce that we will be further optimizing the performance and future-proofing of our services by relocating our IT infrastructure from our Cologne location to a state-of-the-art data center in Frankfurt. As part of this relocation, a change in the IP addresses of our services will be necessary. Please note that this may require an adjustment on your part if you use IP-based filters or specific whitelists for our services. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience associated with this change and for the uncertainty regarding the exact timeline. Due to the complexity of such a migration project, we are unable to provide a firm date at this time, however, we will inform you immediately as soon as the date has been finalized. We are convinced that this step represents a significant investment in the stability and performance of our systems, from which you, as a customer, will benefit directly in the future. Thank you very much for your understanding and the trust you have placed in us.
Resolved

The issue has been resolved. All systems are reachable again.

Update

The migration is largely complete, we are now testing the systems for stability and, provided everything goes smoothly, will officially end the maintenance status in the coming hours.

Update

The migration is now 30% complete, the new resources are already available for ordering. An IPv6 address is now provided with every new server ordered, and all existing servers come with a free IPv6 address included.

Update

We had to handle some things differently than planned. We did not create copies of the old servers, instead, we migrated them live and used hard drive checks to ensure data consistency. Access to the customer portal will be restored within the next 30–60 minutes. Due to the large number of servers, the previously guaranteed IP addresses were not assigned, as of now, anyone can add a free IPv6 address to their server.

Update

The official migration will begin between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. We will migrate all servers to the new systems sequentially. Afterward, a copy of your server will be available on the new Frankfurt infrastructure. You will then have until August 14 to review all data and update any DNS entries to the new addresses. If the old servers have not been deleted by August 14, we will remove them for you. Please refrain from reporting any issues until the migration is complete. We also recommend waiting to delete the old servers until the new ones are fully functional to prevent data loss. If any issues arise during the maintenance window, please do not report them unless they persist after the window has ended.
