Name Adjustment Within the Cloud Structure

Status: Ongoing

Start: 15.09.2026 12:00  –  End: 15.09.2026 16:00

Description
Together with our new IT Administrator, we have established a new naming convention that will be rolled out during the upcoming maintenance window. No service disruption is expected. Legacy DNS entries and system-side adjustments will only be finalized once full functionality has been confirmed at the network level. As a result, there are no significant impacts for customers, with one exception: the name of the Compute Resources will change. Instead of displaying the cluster name, we will now display the associated network leaf. For example, a server previously named "fra-compute-cluster-100" will now reflect its responsible network leaf, such as "fra-a-leaf100". The new naming structure is defined as follows: location-building-leaf Please note: A single cluster currently consists of roughly 44 host systems. Therefore, one leaf is responsible for 30 to 48 servers, depending on density and rack layout.
